Homeowners and late bugs

Homeowners and late bugs

It may be a later start than normal, but heavy rains and heat have created a big bug surge. Bugs happen every year, but this year is different. Mike Smith says it’s the amount of moisture that has caused the delay of the bug season. A delay in the egg hatching could buy you some time to debug the situation. It’s time to get busy if you haven’t already. If you shine a flashlight in your grass, will you see ants and spiders? Preventative treatments can help especially if you live near construction.  People always seem surprised or annoyed by the pesky critters that tend to pop up in and around their homes, especially in the summer months. The fact is, they have existed long before we constructed our homes and shopping malls in our towns. Construction can unearth many different pests simply by moving the soil.  Ants, rats and other bugs are by no means strangers to the elements. You could build barriers around your home to help. This might unearth some unwanted spiders, but it could ultimately help. Experts are suggesting that you catch some of the pests alive to show your exterminator. Identification is key and this could help you find the best plan of action. For more information on ants, spiders and rats click here
