They are invading!
You think you have a spider or two in your home. You’ve been bitten a few times so you decide to set out spider traps. You leave for work and come home to hundreds of spiders on those traps. Sounds like a nightmare, right?
Hobo spiders in particular can reproduce at such an alarming rate, it doesn’t take long for them to overtake your home. They are also nocturnal, so you won’t see them during the day. Most spiders tend to hide during the winter months and with higher temperatures during the spring and fall, they have a longer cycle of which not to hide, allowing them more time to reproduce.
Hobo spiders do not have venom. However, when they bite they introduce bacteria into your skin which can be very harmful to those with allergies. This bacterium can actually cause your skin to die. The best way to avoid an infestation is to keep your home clean and tidy. Keeping things like laundry off the floor will eliminate places for them to hide. If you think you may have a spider infestation, call your local pest control company as this is the only true way to get rid of the problem.
