Don’t break the bank!
The first question people ask when faced with a bug infestation is “how much is this going to cost?” Well of course if you have a concern that your home may in fact be infested, you should call your local pest control company immediately to address the situation and eliminate the pests. However, here are some tips for you to use that could save you a few dollars.
Always make sure your home is clean and tidy. I’m not talking “model home” clean, but the obvious. Don’t leave food laying around, don’t leave piles of dishes and trash, etc. A mixture of vinegar and water may help with pesky ants, if you just have a few to get rid of. Borax and sugar can also be helpful as the ants won’t realize you are using poison to eliminate them. Less water in the yard is beneficial to keeping pests away. Insects like to be where it is cool and damp. If you lower the amount of moisture in the area, you will likely lower the amount of pests. You ca also use a plastic soda bottle as a DIY trap, however if you are at that point it’s probably best to let the professionals do their job.
