Do you have flies, mosquitos, and other flying insects plaguing your home or backyard? Have you tried countless store-bought traps that just aren’t doing the job? Well, a new invention by a man from Illinois has come up with an idea for a new insect trap that is simple enough you can make it in your own home and seems like it would be very successful.
Here’s how it works: You first have to find a large toad – think the kind that St. Patrick banished from Ireland…I’ll admit that that ingredient may be a bit tricky to find, but you can always check out the selection at your local pet store. After you have procured said toad, which are apparently very easy to tame, put him in a box with a small hole cut out near the bottom big enough for the toad to be able to poke his head out. Before you put him in the box pour some molasses on his back. The molasses will attract all kinds of insects such as fleas, flies, mosquitos, etc. When these insect pests come within reach, the toad can extend his three-inch tongue out and scoop up the unlucky bug. This trap might not be much to look at, but it could prove to be very useful.
