Remedy for Ant Home Invasions

You’ve probably experienced the annual ant home invasion, even if you live in an urban area. I know I have. Every year, despite the fact that I live in an apartment in the middle of the city, I still manage to find that pesky trail of ants making its way into my kitchen to steal whatever miniscule crumbs of food may have escaped my notice. And these guys are not easy to get rid of.

I have tried making sure all exits are securely sealed, but if you’re familiar with this home invasion, you’ll know that that doesn’t work. Ants are tiny, and they can fit through cracks that my human eyes can’t even see. So, I tried making sure my kitchen was clean and there was no standing water around to attract them. Everything was spotless…and they still showed up like clockwork. Finally, at my wits ends, I decided to look up ways to get ants out of your home on the internet and found that apparently cinnamon will prevent ants from entering your home. I know, this sounds ridiculous, right? It’s not. I spread cinnamon at all the points of entry, as well as where they would march through my kitchen, and lo and behold the ants vanished as if they had never even been there.

Do you know of any other natural remedies for ants in your home? What is your favorite?
